Cookies and browser storage
DimeTrace uses sign-in cookies and temporary storage for requested features. Remembering a place is optional and starts only when you choose it.
Sign-in cookies
Cookies are small records your browser sends back to a website. When you request a sign-in or use an account, DimeTrace uses first-party cookies to complete that request and keep you signed in. They contain sign-in session information and temporary verification information. Their names begin with sb- and may end in auth-token or code-verifier, with extra parts where a cookie is split.
The installed sign-in library sets a maximum cookie age of 400 days each time it writes or renews one. This is not a promise that a sign-in stays valid for 400 days: the service can expire or revoke it earlier. Signing out clears the current sign-in cookies; your browser can also clear or block them. Blocking them prevents account features from working.
This storage is needed for the account feature you request and uses the strictly necessary exception in §165(3) of Austria's Telecommunications Act 2021. It is not used for advertising or visitor analytics.
Temporary contribution drafts
When you carry an amount into a contribution or leave a form to sign in, the browser can hold the answers under a name such as dimetrace:rent-draft:en. This is local storage: it stays on your device and is not sent automatically with requests. It lets you complete the action without putting private answers into a link.
A draft is valid for 30 minutes and removed when restored. While the form remains open, it also schedules expiry cleanup. If you close the page, stored bytes can remain until the form next reads and clears them or you clear site data; an expired draft will not be restored. A draft does not become a submitted contribution until the contribution is sent.
Optional remembered place
Choosing “Remember this place” saves that place's name, category and save time in this browser for a return link on the home page. It does not start recording other pages you visit. This optional storage uses your consent under §165(3) TKG 2021 and, where personal data is involved, Article 6(1)(a) GDPR.
The record is named dimetrace:last-place and is used for up to 30 days. It is removed when the site next checks it after expiry. You can withdraw your choice and remove it with “Forget this place” or the button below. Clearing browser site data also removes it. Nothing about that saved choice is sent to our database.
Your controls
You can browse without remembering a place. No advertising, cross-site tracking or analytics cookies are used, so there is no general advertising-cookie consent banner. The optional place feature has its own choice. Your browser's site-data settings can remove cookies and local drafts; this can sign you out and discard unfinished answers.
